Julia Biel is an award-winning Afro-European vocalist, songwriter and composer whose work brings groove-led songcraft together with jazz instrumentation and African-rooted rhythm. Her live performances are intimate yet expansive - songs opening up into improvisation, her unmistakable voice moving freely within a collective sound of piano, saxophone, double bass, drums and percussion. Her appearance at Soul Mama offers a rare opportunity to hear new material in a close setting. The Soul Mama Menu offers a delightful blend of African, Caribbean, and South American cuisine.
